“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.” Revelation 5:12
Our trip to the Valley was great! We visited television stations, turkey farms, and saw first hand just how important agriculture is to our state. The most noteworthy visit to me, however, was to a lamb farm.
This lamb farmer has a full time job and after work, sells pasture raised lambs. He doesn’t do it for money, but because he enjoys farming, and the people that he works with. His core client base is from the immigrant community, which is very religiously diverse. Not infrequently, his lamb farming has thrust him in the position of mediating religious disputes.
Despite the religious differences of his clients, over time, they have come to respect and understand each other. It illustrates that agriculture is more than just work, but can create opportunities for cultural understanding as well.
