My name is Carl Thiel-Goin, Conservation Planning and Training Coordinator with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, Soil and Water Conservation Division. I have a long work history involving agriculture, training and education, including working for Virginia Cooperative Extension, Tidewater SWCD, Parks and Recreation, and other positions. I received my bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University with a major in Outdoor Recreation and Park Management and continued on to earn a Master’s from Virginia Tech in Career and Technical Education. I am a Virginia native and grew up on a 6-generation family farm that continues to operate with greenhouses, hay, and beef cattle. I enjoy being outside and spending time with my wife and daughter.
