Whitney Ivey

Whitney L. Ivey, is the owner of Adams & Ivey, PLLC, a law firm that serves clients in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of North Carolina.  She is a self-proclaimed “dirt lawyer” and has a rural practice serving her local clients in real estate matters, various business transactions, estate planning and estate administration.   Whitney also advocates for foster children as a Guardian Ad Litem attorney and has served in that role for over 15 years.

Whitney is originally from Kentucky, where she was raised on a sheep and tobacco farm. She was active in 4-H and FFA in high school and served as the Kentucky FFA State President.  She attended Western Kentucky University, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Agricultural Communications. Given her passion for agriculture, she then attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, specifically to study in the Agriculture Law program and obtained a Juris Doctor with additional certificates in Food and Agricultural Law and Public Service.

Whitney and her husband Brantley (a former valor class member) moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2007, where they now live in Grayson County, Virginia.

Whitney is a strong advocate for her clients and her community. She serves on several boards, is an active member of the American Ag Law Association, and in her spare time she raises two children, Autrey and Gus, and farms with her family.
