I’ve been all over the country, from Texas to Minnesota, to the deserts of Arizona, all the way to the sunny beaches of Florida. In all my travels I’ve seen a peanut field, much less a warehouse 2 football fields long filled to the brim with peanuts.

VALOR Class VII’s south eastern Virginia seminar was filled with places and lessons that I’ll never forget!
One of our stops on this seminar was Smithfield foods further processing plant. As a class we agreed this stop was the one with the most discussion afterwards. Smithfield, like my farm at home, is focused on upgrading technology in their processing facilities. They are leaning in to “co-bot” technology that assists human labor to make work easier for their labor force.
Along with lessons, this seminar was filled with fellowship. Every van ride was filled with conversation and laughter. One of my favorite stops of the whole weekend was based around fellowship. Paul and Pam Rodger’s prepared an amazing taco dinner and brought in his son-in law Officer Brian Moore to speak to us about his position in the state police!

Everything about this seminar was something new I hadn’t experienced before. While we traveled, our class grew closer and can’t wait for where our next travels will take us!
