Hello everyone, I am Todd Legge from the metropolis of Middletown, VA, a small one-stoplight town 20 miles south of Winchester. I currently work for Darling Ingredients, Inc., based in Irving, TX, as a Finished Goods Sales Representative covering the eastern US. Darling Ingredients, Inc. is the world’s largest rendering company, with over 260 locations in 15 different countries. They focus on repurposing and recycling materials from the animal agriculture and food industries.
I was born and raised in Middletown, VA, on my family’s beef cattle operation, Garrett Farms, LLC. I graduated in 2000 from Virginia Tech with a BS in Animal and Poultry Science. After graduation, I managed the family farm, running 250 Angus and Angus cross cows. I spent more than 15 years in the construction materials industry before finding my way back into the agriculture realm.
I am extremely active with the FFA, serving on the VA FFA Foundation Board, serving as President of the Darling Ingredients FFA Alumni and Supporters Chapter, and coaching an Ag Sales CDE Team. I am passionate about developing the future leaders of agriculture; they are the future of our country.
I am happily married to my wife, Holly, and we have two great children, Hunter (19) and Morgan (17). Hunter is attending Virginia Tech, studying Agribusiness, and Morgan aspires to attend Virginia Tech to study Human Development. We still live on the family farm with our two Jack Russells, JJ and Odie, and our English Bulldog, Dottie. We are also active members of Round Hill Church in Winchester, VA.
I am excited about my upcoming journey for the next two years in the VALOR program. The amount of diverse agriculture spread throughout Virginia is unmatched, and I cannot wait to expand my knowledge of VA Ag.
