Howdy! I am Amanda Culp. I currently have the pleasure of working as the Director of Communications & Marketing at Maola Local Dairies, owned by Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association. Through my position with Maola, I lead a team of five individuals who share our sustainable dairy platform with customers and consumers while working to deliver profits to the 850+ farm families who own our cooperative. I adore my job and have worked for Maola since April 1, 2021.
Prior to my time with Maola, I worked at the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) for more than a decade. This organization serves all state departments of agriculture at the nexus of state and federal laws and regulations. During that time I held various roles that helped me gain skills in government relations (specifically nutrition, hemp, and domestic marketing policy), communications, event management, and fundraising. This job also provided me with the opportunity to travel to 31 states, Mexico, and Canada.
I earned a B.S. in Forestry Science from Texas A&M University (Class of 2011) and a Master of professional Studies in Geospatial Information Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park.
I live in a beautiful home in the no-stoplight-town of Edinburg, Virginia. I have been married to my husband, Josh, for ten years and together we have a young daughter and son who keep us very busy.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in VALOR through the financial and time support of my employer, Maola (especially my boss!). I also know this program will take me away from my family for many nights and am fortunate to have the support of my husband.
Cheers to the next two years of learning!
