Brandon grew up in the Shenandoah Valley on his family’s beef cattle operation, Valley View Farms. Livestock judging led him to Texas Tech University in 2008 where he competed collegiately and also spent a semester interning at the U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland. After earning degrees in Animal Science (B.S.) and Political Science (B.A.) from Texas Tech, he spent time working at the R.A. Brown Ranch in Throckmorton, TX. In 2014, Brandon joined Combest, Sell & Associates as an agriculture lobbyist in Washington D.C. where he represented farmers and ranchers to Congress and the Administration. In 2016, Brandon moved back to the Valley to pursue a law degree at Washington & Lee School of Law and become more involved in his family’s farm. He has spent the past two summers working as a summer associate at Lenhart Pettit’s Harrisonburg law firm. Brandon is currently on a legal clerkship with the House Agriculture Committee in D.C. this fall. He will return to Lexington for the spring semester at W&L and graduate in May 2019. Brandon looks forward to serving Virginia as an agriculture lawyer and remaining involved with his family’s beef cattle operation.
